Star Parodia is a cute parody of Hudson Soft's games like the Star Soldier series,
Bomberman and even the PC Engine console itself. You can choose your
ship from a list of three: the Paro-Caesar (Caesar being the name of the ship in the
Star Soldier series of games), a robotic and flying Bomberman or a
white space-ship in the shape of the original PC Engine system. It is funny to notice
in the introduction sequence that the Super
Star Soldier huCard is inserted to the ship before its launch, and that the
Paro-Caesar's pilot is in fact a blue-haired girl.
Each of them have their own weaponery, from lasers and vulcan guns for
the Paro-Caesar to bombs for Bomberman, and hucards and CDs for the
PC Engine ship.
You can also collect multiples, shields and missiles. Each ship has
three main weapons in total that can be changed by picking up the
right icon, collect the same several times to get upgrades !
The game counts eight long stages before you encounter the
final boss and brain behind all of this...
